Cooker and oven connections
Dedicated cooker circuits, cooker switches and connection units, and connections for built-in ovens.
Kitchens
The kitchen has more electrical work in it than the rest of the house put together. Appliance circuits, worktop sockets, lighting on more than one level, an extractor, and increasingly an island that needs power in the middle of the floor.
Whether you are fitting a whole new kitchen or replacing a single appliance, we handle the electrical side and coordinate with the kitchen fitters so the wiring is in place at the right point in the job.
Dedicated cooker circuits, cooker switches and connection units, and connections for built-in ovens.
Electric and induction hob supplies, which often need a heavier circuit than the one that fed an older cooker.
Supplies for extractor hoods and fans, including replacements for units that have failed or become noisy.
Above-worktop points, switched fused spurs for integrated appliances, and island sockets.
Ceiling lighting, under-cabinet task lighting and pendants over islands, with separate switching where useful.
Checking that the existing circuits and board can take a modern kitchen's load before the units go in.
Kitchen electrical work happens in two visits for good reason. First fix goes in once the old kitchen is out and before the walls are finished, so cables can be run cleanly to where the appliances and sockets will end up. Second fix happens once the units and worktops are in place.
Getting the first fix wrong is expensive to correct, because the fix involves cutting into a finished wall or a new worktop. A short conversation over the kitchen plan before anything is stripped out avoids most of that.
Swapping a gas or older electric cooker for an induction hob is one of the most common reasons a kitchen needs electrical work. Induction pulls more, and the circuit that fed the previous appliance is not always suitable. That is worth checking before the appliance is ordered, not on installation day.
